HOUSE OF ARTFUL LIVING

A Second Gut Remodel of a 1910 home in Piedmont, California. Interior Architecture, finishes, furnishings.

A HOUSE OF ARTFUL LIVING

We have had the privilege of revisiting this classic Georgian four-story residence for a series of renovations spanning more than two decades. In its most recent chapter, the home underwent a comprehensive transformation centered on reimagining the primary suite. A former bedroom was thoughtfully removed to create an expansive, light-filled primary closet, seamlessly integrated with the newly refurbished suite and oriented toward serene garden views.

The client’s deep appreciation for contemporary art is the intellectual and emotional foundation of every project we undertake together. Art is never treated as adornment; it is curated with intention and placed with precision, functioning as an integral interior architectural and design element. Our process is rooted in weaving the client’s cherished collection into the very fabric of the home, allowing each piece to shape the spaces it inhabits.

Nowhere is this philosophy more evident than in the common areas. A restrained, neutral palette provides a quiet backdrop for sculptural, contemporary, and refined furnishings, creating a dynamic dialogue with an ever-evolving art collection. The result is a home that reflects the client’s sophisticated connoisseurship, where art and interior architecture exist in seamless harmony.

This enduring design journey has not only transformed the residence but distilled the essence of gracious living—artfully curated, deeply personal, and effortlessly lived.
